I'm not allowed out after dark....CJP
I thought that's when polecats usually came out :-)
Hey guys.... I know some of you... Lowell we worked together at Steel Wool years ago. Fished with Tin Guppy and more than likely others here. I just signed up here last night. It seems this site is pretty active and chalk full of information.
Guys I love to ice fish more than anything but I haven't been at it as long as many of you. I've never owned a boat so I really don't know the ins and out of CJ Brown. I have everything but a shanty in regards to ice fishing but not really understanding the pattern of fish in the Winter has kept me from doing real good in the few years I've been at it.
I'm hoping this year...if we get ice.... will be the year things start to make sense. I'm all ears and welcome any teachings your willing to share. I plan to stop in for breakfast and meet everyone then it's off to my sons school event.
Is anyone planning on hitting the Reservoir this weekend. I'm at least heading to the docks. Roger

Greenpea- I'm planning on going out to the marina and trying out the new flasher/finder sometime this weekend. Anyone know the marina's current status? Ice thickness (assuming there is, in fact, ice at the marina)? Thanks
Welcome Roger...we'll talk more at breakfast.
You don't need a boat to fish CJ well...but you do need to understand her....the good part is, they'll be a bunch at Breakfast that have the knowledge you seek!
I was able to put the last piece of the Winter puzzle together last week with Crazy4Crappie!

Saturday the water temp was 37.2 all over the lake...warm water had settled on the bottom.
There was ZERO ice Saturday...but these temps will have it building quickly...you may be good on Thursday, but it's supposed to warm back up on Friday and Saturday and rain, so I doubt it will be safe!
