EF 4/17
My dad and I spent all day at East Fork on Friday. We spent the entire day in one of the larger coves off the main lake. Early on, the cove was very muddy. As the day went on, it cleared up quite a bit. Low visibility, especially early on, but the crappie were very active. I do believe they are getting close to spawn, though not quite there yet.
We caught 85 fish between us. 3 bass(nothing real big) and a sunfish, the rest crappie. A mix of blacks and whites but 80% whites. They were biting everywhere as long as you could get it close enough to them for them to see your bait. I was single pole jigging next to any structure I could see or knew about and they were there. Caught from as shallow as 18" to 5'. Catch and release only for me yesterday but we have many over 10" and 2 at 12". A few dinks, no trophies.

Very nice report ,I cant believe the water temps are so high.

It was real muddy in the cove to start the day so it was probably warmer due to that. Surface temperatures were just above 60.

I got out to EF again yesterday with my dad. Much tougher fishing than the Friday before when they were biting everywhere, including < 2 feet of water. Yesterday, we caught a couple near shallow water but caught most about 8 feet down in 10-15 feet of water. Managed 32 fish. Most of the females looked ready to pop with eggs. I think the cold nights this week must have sent them deeper again but the water temps indicate it's about time to spawn.
