Default looking for Jigs I used to use!

Back in the 90's I used to go to Walmart and buy crappie jigs. They were 1/64 oz but they were the size of 1/4 oz jigs. Head was same size hook the same pipe cleaner body with 4 hairs hanging from the bottom. Not sure what the head was made of but if you squeezed it too hard between your fingers you could almost flatten it so i know they weren't lead. Have not been able to find them in many many years but they were my favorite jigs to use for crappie and nothing else works as good here in northeast ohio! Can anyone help me locate them or find out what they were called.

I am not sure what those jig heads were. But you mentioned the 64th oz being the same size as a 1/4 so may this will help.
I buy all my crappie jig heads now from Litewire Hooks

1.)they are lite-wire so I get out of snags easier. They are weaker so if you are fishing for multiple species, that may cost you if you hook into a 10lb cat but I think they work really well for crappie.
2.)You can get a 32 oz jig head on a #2 size hook. I really like this. Seems like the jig heads you buy from Wal-mart always shrink the hook with the weight. So, for a 1/16, they always go up to a #4 or #6 size hook. I like #2 size hook for crappie.

I think I found the link here on these forums so other people probably use him. They are inexpensive and the guy who makes them is retired and ships them out fast.

Sounds to me that they were foam heads, did they float if no weight was on the line?
    Try checking around for them.
I have been tying up small spinner baits, 1/16 and 1/8 with white rubber and a #1 Indiana blade. They work well on the lake that I live on.
    Hope this helps you out.
I only fish when I am awake but I dream about doing it quite often.
