I'm new to the site and I was wondering.... Other than the Spillway, is there another good place to fish from the bank at Deer Creek?

Yes, when the ice is gone I presume you mean. Fishing the lake depends on level, if rain is normal they will start filling lake April 1st from winter pool. until then fishing deeper water means behind the dam or below Hardin cabin. Those are two places you can get to from bank to fish deeper water in early spring or late fall. Right now lake is 4' above winter pool because of all the rain and snow melt from last week and the spillway is not fishable at this time. other than early and late season there are many places to fish from bank there, just drive around the lake and you will see the parking areas and picnic areas, I usually only fish the lake early spring and late Fall for crappie ad fish the spillway for eyes during winter months.

No problem, I don't live far from Deer creek and mostly fish it for crappie in spring and Fall, if creek is right in spring the crappie are a blast . Along with the white bass run. If you have fished the lake you know it doesn't take much bad weather to mess up the water level .
