That's a pretty cool pic with the net falling through the shad.
    What unit is that on?

I'm curious what depth did you guys fish?

Where-ever the fish were...we tried everything and different techniques...3 different colors at a time, or 3 different baits at a time...doesn't really matter much when the Little Piggy's are stuffed! lol

I thought it was Low. I have Gen 1 and I like it a lot.
Have you tried setting it on 800kHz. I feel I get a better view set there.

GEEZ, that is 1 CRAP LOAD of shad ! Like 1 continuous school ! And great pictures of CC#2 Doc. Still think we need to get a septic tank bottom, glue some 3 hole bricks to the sides, and a cement block under each corner, load it with osage orange limbs, slow tow it out to CC#2 on a dead calm night and add lots of water with say a deer slug on 1 side...maybe at 3AM just to make it more interesting. It would be there FOREVER. (Think anyone would notice ?)

I fished this past Friday and Monday.
On Friday I marked bait balls 20' deep in 40fow. We caught probably 80 crappie and we never caught a fish over 3' deep no matter where we fished.
On Monday we saw scattered bait and the crappie were holding super tight to cover we never caught a fish under 6' deep with most of them coming 8'-10' deep. We probably caught 50-60 on Monday.
Same lake, different days and fish were located completely different.
Both days were split between minnows and jigs. On neither day did they seem to relate to bait.(that we could see)

You are correct though, some days it's just plain tough

Hey Lowell. ..what you don't understand is this "bait ball" ran from halfway to Whisky Island and half of the dam....I can't say it covered the whole dam cause we didn't cover it all due to the wind....other times it has covered the entire dam area...and other areas had large schools of shad also....there is PLENTY of food!
