    Default How is the Bite

Went out this morning B-4 it got windy and caught 16 crappie on a chartreuse and orange jig that looked like a minnow head with a chartreuse tube minnow tail, tipped with small crappie minnows. Caught the biggest crappie on one of the smaller minnows.

I fished a gravel pit and the jig I used is called a Gitzit. I couldn't think of the name of the jig yesterday.

I may go to Acton too. From bank;not getting out boat, near sugar camp and a spot between the beach and the marina. If I do go to EF on Sunday or late Saturday I'll try Todd Run and Kain Run.

I fished the bank last Sunday, the water was muddy and was windy, managed 6 dinks with light bites, used a 1/32 and a 1/16th jig tipped with minnows 3 to 5 ft down on the North side of sugar camp. Im think they will turn on this weekend, reported water temps last week were 55 degrees. PS they are having a meeting this coming Tuesday at 7:00pm at the lodge to vote on the Hp rule, We have a group coming to cast votes, hope you can make it.

I think on a small lake like Acton 10 HP is plenty. Can't make it down to vote though. Work second shift. I'll post my weekend fishing results Sun. or Mon. Unless it's hot then I'll post sooner.

10 hp is plenty but a higher hp motor controlled would make same wake. I'm all for allowing larger engines at idle on Hueston Woods. A lot of guys with 9.9 stickers on their motors are actually 15 hp motors you can tell when they open them up.

After this cold front the news I heard last night may be too late until it warms up a little. My friend told me after he went fishing at Kiser lake the last two Sundays he got tired of hauling in the crappies. He didn't say what size only that the bite was incredible.
