I just use the Bass Pro trolling rods in 16 ft. lengths with the $20 Capps and Coleman replacement tips on them. Best of both worlds: Enough backbone to snatch a 20 lb. channel cat sideways and enough tip action to see the light bites. When I go real heavy or I'm bottom bouncing, pulling cranks, etc, I just put the Bass Pro tips on. Two rods in one (until I finally pull the trigger on the white rods).
