    Wow!! That could've easily turned into a life threatening situation. Motors can be replaced.

    My understanding is that when he tried to plane off the steering cable broke letting the motor torque big time and twisting it off the transom!!

    Not sure I would want it back. I would collect the insurance if possible and see who else I could hold liable for the defect / malfunction. Glad no one was injured, that could have went very badly.

    Don't tell the EPA! That's nuts, though. Must have been a heck of a ride if it torqued itself off the transom. I've seen a few engineless transoms on Barnett but they were all stump related.

    I talked with a guy on the MS river who makes a living using his SI. Whenever a company losses something overboard they hire him to pinpoint it for the divers to collect.

    Talk about a bad day.....Just think how many times you have heard guys complaining about too much wind or lock jawed fish.....
