On Pickwick in the summer you will see big schools busting baitfish on the surface, we wear them out casting white rooster tails into the school. You can just about get a fish on every cast and most of them will have a mouth full of shad when you real them in, it is a lot of fun if you catch them at the right time.

I see the OP is in Tennessee, if you live in the Memphis area Herb Parsons lake out near Collierville has all the yellow bass you could ever want to catch. I don't know what the difference is between a yellow bass and a white bass or if yellow bass are less desirable but if all you are looking for is somewhere you can catch a lot of fish easily, Herb Parsons is full of aggressive yellow bass. I used to try to fish for crappie out there and if I was using minnows I would catch about 3 yellow bass for every crappie.
In my younger days my dad's side of the family would camp at rose trail and that's what we'd do in the summer....chase the schools and fill 5 gallon bucks up with them.
