I agree with reese,14fters are about as long as I want.16's would be better in shallow water,but hard to deal with and if you have someone inexperienced in the boat 16's would be a handful for them.Another think you got to consider is getting that shallow spring fish in the boat,catch a fish 2ft deep on a 14ft pole is challenging enough for meRod question
