i see it as just another way to catch crappie. i think the best fisherman adapt techniques to what well catch em the best at the time. the only technique im not interested in is snagging. that just seems boring to me.

I like to fish without a hook and no bait. Never have to clean any when I get home

I'm fishing a creek at Butla, spidering a single jig with a split shot above it tipped with a minnow. A young hot shot kid comes blowing up where I was about to fish, runs to front, drops his trolling motor and starts single poling. He looks over at me and says" I can't believe you are trolling this creek,I have never seen anyone troll this creek".What the kid didn't know was the larger females were in the middle of the creek waiting for the temps to get right to move up to spawn and the males were spotty here and there. I caught 10 fish before the kid had his first bite.Wonder how many times he has trolled that creek since then?I love single poling and I use spidering as a way to locate fish faster. I am open to all techniques for catching fish.If 1 don't work, I'll try another.Just my

I would mention that it is a free country and he doesn't have to do it.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

Reminds me of a story from my friend that if cell phones at first only sent text and then a few years later you could talk on it all the kids would be saying, can you believe it you can actually talk on this thing. Do what you want as long as it is legal.
Sadly the only thing there will be to fish for will be jumping carp if they don't get a handle on them.

I remember years ago fishing a private pond with a friend. We bank fished for whatever bit; the lake was about two acres. We fished a couple of hours and had a few.
I saw a storm was brewing and told my friend to come to spot to fish so we could catch a bucketful. We did. His response was typical. saying we should have fished there earlier My response, we are catching now and was fishing earlier. Take the fish you need when catching, take the lessons needed when fishing.
