I just want to fish and when I do I'll be rigging. I thought is was the most idiotic thing I had ever seen until I did it the first time and understood it. One time was all I needed to know that was the way I wanted to fish for crappie.

There will always be somethin special about that "THUMP"! There is nothing in the world that feels better than feeling that thump of a hungry crappie!

In a perfect world I would throw a float and jig. I love seeing that float go under and always will. HOWEVER I LIKE CATCHING BETTER THAN FISHING so if I need to long line or spider rig then thats what Ill do. I do not violate game and fish laws so what way I choose to fish is my own affair.

fish-ing: the activity of catching fish, either for food or as a sport.

Really no argument or debate per definition.

Actually, fishing is the activity of "attempting" to catch fish. You might or might not catch any, but either way you are still fishing

Can't imagine why there might be an argument against trolling. I don't personally enjoy it, but I admire those who are good at catching fish that way.

I will venture to say that 95% of the folks opposed to trolling are jealous or just don't want to spend the money or time to learn it. I spent countless days catching hardly anything until I learned what I needed to be doing. Most folks now are instant gratification.

Same as our society, they are happy to sit on their lazy butts and complain about their neighbor having something they want all the while unwilling to lift a hand to work for it like the neighbor does.

Stop whinning...start fishing...whatever way is legal that YOU enjoy..mind you own business, and let others mind theirs. Enjoy, and protect the resource. Take kids fishing ever chance you get. It's not rocket science...

The only argument I have against trolling is I'm not doing it today!!! Much rather be trolling, single poling, pulling cranks, casting a jig or minner under a float, etc rather than being at work.

    Amen.

A bad day on the water is more gratifying than a good day at work!
