Unlike farmers, I love my work. In fact, if I won the lottery, I would stay in the flooring business til it was all gone.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I love farming.

I grew up living on the family farm. I still like to get on a tractor and spend a day pulling a disk. I often got off work at school during the fall and rode out to the place and drove a combine till it got to damp to cut. I like tinkering in the shop and watching stuff grow. I hated the crap with the USDA. And banks. And legal offices.

Dad's truck was so full of papers and mail that he hardly ever got to "farm." He wasn't really a farmer anymore, more like a businessman who had a truck instead of an office. Of course, he said he would rather do office work out of a truck than office work in an office. He was making plans for the next crop the day before he passed away.............

Those banana spiders are everywhere in the woods late summer early fall. I've ran through a many of their webs on my 4 wheeler. Never been bitten.

Only if one bites you. I haven't heard of anyone being bit by one of the banana spiders.
Years ago I was bit on the hand by a spider, don't know what kind. Mom told me to cut a piece of fatback and tape it on the bite. A few days later I removed it to find what looked like a web under the skin. I drained it and applied another piece of fatback for a few days. I drained a lot less this time and went back to work without going to the doctor.

If it had jumped toward me I would have torn up half an acre. Plus only dogs would hear me scream. Would lose all my man points in two seconds flat.
