Bill I have 10 double 4 ft fluorescents. Only problem I had was the cheap ones don't come on good in the cold. I upgraded to a more expensive temperature rated and they work great. Still not expensive at all. I have them on 3 switches so I can turn on two different set of 4 at a time or the 2 over my work bench.

Bill my shop is 30X40 with 12 foo celing. I have 5 8 ft 2 bulb lites and they do a pretty good job. Looked at some of those low celing shop lights in Sodium and they are to rich for me. Maybe Speck could help us with a recommendation.

I'm thinking 12 8'ers. Three rows of 3 long ways, and one row of 3 across the back for cleaning station, tying rigs, cooking, etc. I want a row down the center and a row off each wall so I don't have shadows on my gear when I'm loading the boats or changing poles and tackle for different styles of fishin. Can't see well now, so I want lots of light.

Mine is 30X50 with 12 foot walls.....I have six double 8 footers and two double 4 footers......not enough light for me and I have spent a small fortune replaceing bulbs and ballasts through the years......so thinking about some different lights. What I have in mind may be pricey but it will be worth it....you get what you pay for.

If that is the route you go make sure yo get the lights with the little small bulbs not the fat ones. Can't remember the T number on them but changed mine all over to those. They last a lot longer and much more light.

Proof once more that nothing is too good for the rich.

    Default Finally!!!!!!

I found some 4' LED lights online for 60.00 bux each. Two rows of LED's in each and puts out the same light as a 4 bulb T-5 (The T-5 fixture was 58 bux, and 3.50 per bulb. That was 72 bux per light and had to replace the bulbs much more often). The person online said I only needed 8 for my ceiling height and building size. I'm getting 12. Finally!!!!!!

The lights have a 5 year warranty and produce 75-80 thousand hours of light each without any replacement. If ya left em on 24-7, that would be over 3100 days or about 9 years.
