First of all, I'm glad you are ok! Any personal possessions can eventually be replaced. Injuries put a whole different perspective on things as that can effect your quality of life. Now for the truck question. I drive diesels for work strictly because of the heavy load capability and the longevity of the motors. Usually get 500K out of them. They are more expensive up front to purchase and to maintain. Anything in the $7500-10,000 range is gonna be older and could be plagued with issues 'cause people do a lot of dumb stuff with them. Computer chips to boost power especially can cause problems down the road, and your not gonna be able to take it to just any old mechanic to get fixed. Stick to a gas burner, you are gonna need to find somebody's grandpa's old truck.. Ford and Chevy's usually have a little more resale value than dodges for some reason. I think they ride a little better. Forget Craigslist, to many scam artists and thugs. Use your friends and family network and buy something from someone you can trust a little. I'm thinking an extended cab Ford, Chevy, or Dodge with a little age but not over 150k in mileage. I will keep my eyes and ears open for you.
