    Thanks bill. The tach works when I hook gray tach wire to yellow stator wire
    [SIGPIC]Drake Waterfowl Prostaff, Dakota Decoys Prostaff,F&F Boats, Mercury Marine, Rig Em Right, Crappie Logic Jigs, Slab Bandits, Hayes Calls, and Kick's Choke Tubes.

    Maybe it's just me, but getting real answers to actual questions here sorta takes all the fun out of it for me. I was really hoping DD would have chimed in with some quality advice.

    They already pulled the stick your tongue in the yellow stator wire to see if it's charging

    Mine acted up a few years ago--it pegged at WOT needless to say I got out of it. Luckily all I had to do was burnish the contacts. I rotated the knob on the back 4 or 5 times and reset back to 6 cyl. and has been working ever sense. Just a thought.
