    We get the same response when we see them here and report it. Nope! Sorry son, aint no panthers in this area of Florida.

    We moved to Horn Lake in '73. We heard reports of hearing or seeing a panther to the east of us. A few months later one was hit on I-55 and Horn Lake creek. That's at the south end of Southcrest mall and walmart in Southaven now.

    I have never understood why they claim they don't exist in MS. Go to the museum of natural science in Jackson and ther is one Mounted . I think it was killed near Brookhaven . In the water Valley area about ten years ago there was a large cat (they took plaster cast of the tracks ) near the brooks farm . turn off hwy. 32 at the water tank( south) ,go to intersection and turn west . If you were in this area I would bet you are spot on .

    That is pretty darn close to where I was.
