They called last week wanting to store some behind the house, being I do all there AC work it was a no brainier on the answer. It is rolling in now. My paw in law use to farm cotton, wish he was still here to see this crop. Do y'all grow much in sippi?

My family farmed the stuff since before the civil war... Tennessee, then Missouri, now Mississippi. Gave up on it about 6 years ago and went all in with grain. My Dad says we have made more money in the last six years than in the previous 150!

PS: I got put of the cotton business about 20 years ago and I do not miss it!

Its a great money crop when all goes well and you have a good year....but on a bad year its a great money loser..... switched from cotton to soybeans about 10 years ago on my place

Yep...but...The seed is the highest its ever been, not to mention fertilizer costs, and then the chemical costs. Its still the highest cost crop to plant and raise...... and then, like you say, prices are low.
