They cooked fish in the Demo I saw. It heats up to 375 so I don;t see how it could be bad for cooking fish. Probably cook fish alot in it personally. I won't have to get the Propane cooker out and keep checking the oil temps constantly. This lets you set how hot you want it and can hold alot. This the fill line is 2 gallons on oil
