You don't need anyone person in charge of the camp as long as you got a good committee to help make the dicisions. That is how we do our camp and everyone has a great time, then there is always others that are willing to lend a hand when needed. When we started planning our camp, we took into consideration when other states was having theirs, any holidays and finally the spawn which limited us to dates but found the weekend between Mothers Day and Memorial Day seems to work. The only thing that interferes with that dates is the possibility of schools graduation, but as already mentioned by others, you can't make everyone happy, you just got to do the best you can. And making a sticky with dates and lakes to vote on is something we did too. It a great idea and anyone can vote for more than one option but not the same one twice. Just my .
