Related to a bunch of em, Gully's and Jarvis'. Don't tell nobody, grandfather was sheriff in Kemper in the late 60 to mid 70s. Even had some connection to the Stennis', part of the land we have on 397 was old Stennis land.

I am distant cousins to some of the Gully's. One of them was over at my place in Louisville today, he is the spit tin' image of the old man Gully in the book who was murdered.

I don't think I would pay that for it either, I had a copy that is now "Gone with the Wind" lol. Your local library may have a copy.

Here is some of what the author of the book said......
"In the 1890's a sinister doctor entered into a conspiracy with local merchants. He poisoned as many as fifty of his own patients to collect life insurance. Newspapers called it the most heinous crime in the history of the nation.

The story flashes back to the Reconstruction period after the Civil War. A bitter feud between two prominent families, the Gullys and the Chisolms, led to what is called "the massacre". They say blood ran in the streets that day. "

Any ideas who this Doctor was ?

It's been so long since I read the book I can't remember his name. I remember thinking it would make one heck of a movie. You just can't make that kind of stuff up.
