Default Way off topic, but I have to ask....

Does anyone on here have gout or know someone with it?? I've had a couple of flare ups recently. I've been to doc and am waiting on my uric acid test results before they decide to put me on any meds or not.
I was wondering what all you or someone you know has tried to help with this problem.
Doc told me to not eat alot of red meat and no alcohol, so I already know about that. Friend at work told me to take a tablespoon of black cherry juice everyday.
Any help/advice would be helpful. Thanks

get on allopurinol and never miss a dose . Even though my test never was positive it would flare up out of nowhere . might be a week, months, a year between flare ups so doctor recommended taking it . been on it 15 yrs. or so .

Has it ever flared up while you have been taking it the last 15 years?

since allopurinol I have been flareup free. Before Colchicine was life saving. Was 4 bucks at wally world. went to over 200. Started getting it from northwest pharmacy in Canada. 100 pills 48 bucks. takes about 7 to get over an attack. take 2 and one more every 2 hours til you get diarrhea. Pain diminishes on first dose but take a few more to get cleared up. Man that stuff hurts.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

Friend of mine is a truck driver and carries most of his meals with him. He used to take 3 gallons of milk every week until it kept flaring up. Doc made him get off the milk, cut red meat and absolutely no processed meat products of ant kind. Bologna sandwich will cripple him. I think he takes meds for it. Doing that and watching what he eats has helped him a lot. I have talked to him on days before he started taking better care where if it wasn't for cruise control and auto shift tranny he wouldn't have been able to drive.

I stopped drinking milk and using sugar in my tea for another health reason and have not had an attack in years. Good luck

My nephew had to give up red beans. They would flare his gout so bad he couldn't walk.

I ain't got nothing of substance to add, but I had ask about this auto shift transmission. Big wheels have auto?
