265 is width 70 is percent of sidewalls to width so yes a 265 is taller than a 245 because of percentage. A 245 70 is over a inch taller than a 245 60

You might want to tell Goodyear about it then. Here's a link telling how to read the numbers How to Read Tire Sizes | Goodyear Auto Service Center 245 is the WIDTH in MM

With this new information. Will the 245s work on my truck, then I can change them out to 265s in a few months without hurting my truck?

Still make your speed off
Yeh, I got that part. Should throw it off a few MPH. The rims are nice and the tires on it only have 10k on them. I'm planning on putting 265s on it when it's time for new ones in a couple years. Just need to know if they'll be OK for now

They will work, the revolutions I posted earlier is spot on. The width of the rim will be a factor as well but shouldn't be a prob. If they were to rub when you turn sharp then you could put a spacer behind the wheel to move them out a little bit to clear.
