I am partial to the b&m brushcutter.. However since I bought mine I think the only way to get one now is in camo.. Which I hate. It has a stronger tip and more backbone than the Sam Heaton and to me is just as light and easy to use all day. I don't use a spinning real for straight jigging makes the rod to butt heavy. I like the red round crappie reels filled with 12 lb trileene ultra.
Everyday spent outdoors with good company is worth the time and effort it takes to make it happen. Take a friend fishing!

Ok folks, got my Sam Heaton Super Sensitive 12 foot rod Thursday and use it for first time this morning. Had it fixed with ultra light spinning reel and 4 lb test, hooked a crappie first thing this morning started up with it and got it to top of water and was bout a pound fish, Sam Heaton rod exploded right below where the sections fit together and before I got it on boat the rod came completely apart it wasn't the tip part that broke bit the reel Base part, that really sucked, hope that I can get it replaced since it was only a day old

Call Jack Wells at BnM in West Point and tell him what happened....pretty sure they will give you a new rod. I recently retired my 12 ft. Sam Heaton and my 11 ft. Ozark . All I use now for single pole is a BnM 11 ft. Duck Commander double touch jig pole with rear seat and a Mr. Crappie SOLO jig pole reel. I really like it.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I hate to hear that Larry. My buddy from Kentucky Lake landed a 60+ pound flathead with a Sam Heaton rod. He swears by them. Yours might have had a defect or been damaged in shipment . Like "G" said. Give BnM a call. I bet they make it right.Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1402764525.310514.jpg

I like the way the 10 footers balance4 with the zebco t11. 12 footers feel out of whack to me and quite cumbersome. however I fish on smaller oxbows and fish sitting in a jon boat.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
