    Default Bloody eggs?

How bloody should the eggs be when they are close to spawning? Most of the ones we cleaned showed very little blood if any at all.
Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

When you are cleaning them and cut thru the egg sack and some of the eggs are loose and scatter, they are ready to lay.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

You're dead on. I know all the females I caught this time, the eggs were loose as can be. Couple weeks ago, they all stayed in a mass

I hear the bloody thing all the time but not sure I understand it or would agree with it. The eggs get runny when she is laying. They look yellow to me.

Eagle 1, I have heard that also, but the KEY is the eggs being loose and not connected completely with the larger mass. I think that is the best tell of when she ready. Now go fishin....
