Yall ready for this
We would use the large wattage bulbs in drop lights with 16/3 50 foot cords on a 16/3 100 foot extension cord. Nothing store bought, it had to be shop made per our union rules. We sold that rule for 2 3/4% raise. I had the fan burn out of a utility heater with 14/2 cord. That is what I'm using.
The you tube link shows using candles with the pot turned upside down. My pot sits up right with a cast iron lid on it, cord running through the bottom.
We left the house after I made the post about 4 pm, it was 67 degrees in here. The infrared heater in the hall is set for 55 degrees and it's off. The oil heater is set at 71 degrees in the kitchen by the back door. The flower pot heater is in the kitchen by the living room door. It's 76 degrees in here now.
Redneck? Ain't no sun shining on my neck with this project, all indoor work. Maybe some jury rigging. My cousin's has a 3 way fixture that goes on a lamp laying in the pot. My brother's has a ceramic ceiling fixture glued to the pot. I'm not finished with it yet.
Im calling b to the total s on this..... just sayn..... and if the shoe fits wear it. Glad I aint got no feets sometime.
With 16 guage wire and 300watt bulbs......I would be concerned with wire temp.......just saying
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

"If you'll get the pot out of the way and take the temp of the bare bulb, I'll bet it's even hotter than that. "
After reading this I removed the lid, 122 degrees. I pointed the lazer at the 100w bulb as much as I could see, 188 degrees dropping to 176 in 30 seconds. An electric stove element gets hotter without a pot on it. The cast iron lid and clay pot absorbs the heat without the light shining in your face.

This was work related for 2 to 6 hours of an 8 hour shift. I used the same drop cord and extension cord for 26 years without issues.

Call it as you like, you always do. This isn't used to replace the central heat, just to aid it where a small heater would be used.
I compared it to the oil heater that I have in the kitchen. Not sure of how much electricity it uses in an hour. The pot heater is doing just as good, a light bulb doesn't use as much as the oil heater.
