E Z, your gonna like that smoker. If you need any tips let me know, don't forget to burn the new off of it before putting the bird in!
Not tryin to hi-jack ur thread, it's ur fault I'm doin what I'm doin anyway.
I ran it one time for bout 4 hrs with chips and lots of smoke. Awesome smell.
Here is the hen
Now ready.. Freesh, this ole hen weighs 6.25.. I plan to set the temp at 275 (max) and set the time for 3 hrs. I don't have the remote kind, so I'll jus have to check in a couple hrs. She has that pop-out thing to let me know when she's done. I also have a digital thermometer to be sure. What do u think?
looks good !!! but I think that bird has a drinking problem it ain't 12 O'clock yet !!!:Rofl
Feesh, Was I supposed to let it rest before or after I cook it?
Lol better not let it rest too long sitting on that bud light EZ or it might drink the whole can, you guys got it goin on with those smokers, I think I know what I want for Christmas for sure.
Looking good! Let it rest after cooking, I don't trust those pop-up things they usually are set on the high side to be gewber proof. They tend to let you over cook your bird.
My turkey was small, about 8.5 lbs, so not much larger than your hen. I cooked it for 4 hours, the smoker was pre-heated for one hour. If you line the flat drip pan in the bottom of the smoker with foil you will thank me later. Also spray your racks and with Pam. Don't worry about hi-jacking anything, I enjoy the heck out of this stuff!
