I have a hummingbird 768 quad beam. I can catch them spawning right off the s-curve on the woodline. I have trolled the s-curve with bandits, jigged spots where the fish finder went nuts on, caught 2 in 8 trips. I am guessing they all moved somewhere else bc if they were in the channel, I would have snagged more than what I caught.

Welcome, I fish the Rez occasionally. I mostly spider rig and do some single polling. I've had the same results as DD with the gnats while on the Rez. They are a fine product and I use them on the ten-Tom And when I am on the big four. For some reason I can't catch anything but catfish on them at the Rez. Right now shad seem To be every where on the Rez. I know for a fact that you can catch some good quality crappie in the main river channel right now. The good ones are deep, like 17-18 on ledges, dont know why cause they are usually 12-14, but thats where they are. I use minnows a lot this time of year but I know they will also hit jigs. Hope this helps, and again welcome. PS, Tommy's Trading Post usually has gnats in stock if you want to try them.

ok, for Saturdays checklist: Minners, Don't have gnats so jigs will have to do, Find the shad (hopefully the crappie won't be full from gorging), slow troll with spider rig on channel marker edge. Vary depth on each pole...
When we say slow, we at times can mean REAL SLOW. I've caught them at 0.6 MPH using 1 0z of lead to keep the minners down and I've caught them at almost dead still. Their different every day on the Rez. Try up around the bridge though. As soon as it gets real cold and we start getting rain and some current, just head to the bridge and see where all the boats are. I've seen more than 40 boats in the welfare hole when their biting in January
