Don't listen to Rees, he's completely wrong. HeHe There's different ways to set up your poles when pulling cranks and you just have to decide which works better for you and the way your boat is set up. With my set up, I'll run my longest lines from my center poles. The main reason for this is the fact that they are angled up from the water and its 25' or so back before the lines enter the water. So if I have 75' of line out with those poles, I will figure 50' of line when looking at the chart. Rees knows his stuff and his way is as good as anyone's.

I pull six PST's from the sides, 8', 12' and 16'. Gives me 4' of separation between each rod. Works well for me.

I use six PSTs with line counter reels. I pull from the back of the boat......makes it a lot better on turns. I run a 14 and a ten out each side at the back and two 8s straight out the back. If I am on a lake with a larger pole limit I sometimes push 4. 12 footers off the front. All are PSTs with line ciunter reels. I keep at least 4 ft. Of separation between lines. I use ScottVs trolling rigs for pushing..
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

LOL, that's the reason you need to check it out, I am setup completely different on line lenghts and very seldom pull any more than 80 feet out. Major and I are set up almost identical with the exception that I also will run a 4'10" rod on each side as well. Major and I both pull cranks by ourselves alot too, this comes into consideration as well, in the CAT we arent having to crawl up and down off the decks either and at our age thats a plus.

6 12' pst's. 2 back 2 middle 2 front. Stay seated the hole time. Just pick up and reel. Angle the rods. Line counters. Also use the same 6 up front when pushing. I push with heavy weights so the pst's works great for me on both set ups. I like to move fast. Most guys that push use light weights if any and they want to move slow they use lighter rods with lighter reels and drift socks. Pst and okuma will run you 80 bucks a combo. Pinnacle and spin cast combo 40 bucks.

Crank baits are for sissies, so you may want to make notes from the replies you've gotten so far.

Dont listen to anything from Wannabe, that is why he is called Wannabe. I run 8 poles out the back 2-16' , 2-14', 2-12' and 2-8' . All dedicated to cranking with Diawa Line counter reels.
