    He means at the reel DD, you aint got to climb over your tolling racks and shinny out on the 14 foot poles and mark it at the end of the pole!!!!!
    Line stops are another very good way to mak it too.

    Use different colors or you could do like Rees said and use a bobber stop to mark your depth.....some people even tie a piece of rubber band around the line and trim the ends off.
