Just a little bit of history. Stripers (searuns) were stocked in Sardis Lake in the late 1970s. They didn't like the lake and most wound up in the spillway for a few years before going on down the river. I caught several 12-15 lb. fish on big topwater baits, spectacular strikes to say the least. The Sardis spillway record is around 32 lb., caught on a live skipjack. They were all gone by the mid 1980s.
