Some of you will remember when grenada fishermen could have 5 any size and so many over 12 ? well we went to grenada to fish tarrance area . caught our 5 under(two of us ) drove to enid and finished our day . upon leaving longbranch we were checked . lucky for us (eventhough we did not measure the grenada fish ) all were over 10 (enid size restriction @ the time ). At Enid also if you go to the outlet channel you can have 20 but once pass 55 hwy bridge you may have 30 ? what happens if you walk back on coe property and get checked ? the game/fish folks need a concrete limit in ms . 10,20, 30 , ect . jmo . Have seen picnic area and cleaning stations clogged with short fish .Warden told me that unless he catches them on the water it's a waste of time to write a citation . they will say they came from spilway/ lower lake . This is more of a concern than number of poles or how you catch them . the recreation/fishing in ms . is being poorly maintained due to lack of funds allotted to the mdwfp. the state tip toes arround the coe and reaps a ton from all sportsmen. instate/out of state , hunting and fishing .jmo . With a little work between state/coe, Mississippi could really be special .
These question have been asked before in this forum. One rainy day I didn't have anything constructive to do so I called the MDWFP office of enforcement in Jackson. I asked them the question just as written on here. Never could convince them that someone had asked. Personally, I wouldn't go to the trouble of loading my boat and going to the lower lake, launch my boat and go fishing for five fish. Kinda have to agree with the enforcement officer. Wouldn't be worth it.
