It's definitely something to watch for, first time around the "PROFESSIONALS" that built mine didnt get the case clean, first time it went out I was pulling a 40 foot gooseneck loaded with round bales, You talking about a pain to get my truck out from under that tailer loaded and another one hooked up.

yep it happens. Best thing I ever did was start dirt track racing when it comes to vehicle repairs--you learn the tricks taht will make things last (out of necessity) I just wish I had the time and place to do ALL of my own--I trust my stuff over anybodies just about.

Check coils and x2 on what big blue said. Those 2 piece plugs are a pain. Broke 5 off in my truck. Timing chain is something to check too. The variable timing caused dads chain to break. Lucas oil additive helped a ton, quieted the engine a lot. Good luck, I loved my 04, I did put it through heck in hs and college

Yep, that dirt track racing is something else. My father-in-law used to own a track and I seem some folks do some amazing stuff with cars and motors. I also saw some folks spend 5 thousand dollars trying to win a 5 hunerd dollar prize.

We were talking the other day about how many trucks we've rebuilt or repaired in the last two years between Fords and GM's. We have built 21 Ford engines 1999-2006 year models vs. only 2 GM trucks in the last 2 years. Just saying....good luck!!
