    Big C I don't know if your model has reed valves or not. They are little flat plates fanned out behind the carbs if memory serves me correct. Just one bit of advice, DO NOT MESS WITH THE REED VALVES! If you get them outta whack u gonna have a mell of a hess on your hands. They might be the problem but it takes someone who knows what they doin to adjust them.

    Sometimes carbon builds up on the reed valves and keeps them from sealing off properly.....A good dose of Seafoam will usually take care of that though.....and if its the reed valves it will do it all the time not off and on as Big C describes. Seems to do it when the boat rocks so that makes me think trash either in the fuel tank or in the carb bowls.

    had a boat with a bad powerpak one time,one minute it would run wide open and the next minute it would run maybe 1/4 throttle,and thats with the throttle wide open
