Yall put your thinking caps on and figure this out.I have a 95 mercury 60hp that idles fine and excelerates fine. The problem is when you are on smooth water it will choke down to half throttle and will stay there until you bounce in the seat, then back to full throttle for maybe 10 second and process starts over. When i'm on choppy water it won't do it as bad.I have removed the fuel tank and replaced the fuel lines going to the motor with no success. It has been this way for about 7yrs.Big H don't not hijack this thread or you are dead meat.

Sounds like the fuel sock in your tank is clogged and rough water bounces the tank enough to keep fuel flowing.

Could be trash at the needle valve if you're not running an inline filter.
Sounds like you need to clean your carbs.....especially your high speed jets. Probably trash in carb bowls moving around and partially blocking them at times.

Well, I think this thread is over. The two key words were Mercury, and Carbs.

If it has been doing it that long it could be one of your coil packs . Had an old johnson do that once and that was what it was . Just saying .
