I used stainless steel bolts,washers, and nylon lock nuts to mount mine.

The hardest part is getting your arm up under the deck far enough to put washers and lock nuts on the bolts. Use at least 6 bolts......I used 8

No problem JT....That is a 60 inch shaft and as you can see....positioning it like I did....it does not hang out over the side of the boat.....it is not in the way of the rod holders and its not in the way of my storage door. Works great.
