I had a 45" on my bass boat and hated it. It would jump out of the water with a good size boat wake. You could forget about pulling cranks from the rear deck on windy days because the TM would be uncontrollable in auto-pilot. I have a 60" now and love it. The extra lengthy gives you some leverage to pull it back up.

I have a 60" on my big boat and it is great. Put a 60" on my 18' boat and cut 10" off the shaft. Wouldn't want it any shorter than that.

I would think the 54" ideal. But it's not available on the 101.
I ordered the 60". Do you mount in same spot where other is currently mounted? Can someone post pics on a bass boat?
Received today from UPS can't wait to install. Do you place same direction as unit I'm taking off? Looks long!!
I believe there is a mounting diagram included with the instructions. It's going to hang off farther than most car drive TM's.
cable drive TM's.
You can mount it at any angle or position that you want to keep it from hanging over the side of the boat or to clear rod holders or whatever. I mounted mine straight. you just have ro leave the proper amount of over hang so it will be able to deploy and turn etc.
