You've been to a bald eagle?
Me 50 yards. Just a not ago I was driving down 55 and just before cold-water an eagle was coming down on a fish. It was pretty cool

50'. they fly over cabin some and while we are fishing at daybreak....
I went to a boat race at Pickwick and one of the wildlife agencies had a live one on a perch in their booth that couldn't fly due to a hunter injury. They are a lot bigger than you think when you are within 5 feet of one. Don't tell DonDon but they got big feets too.

Hunter7711 and I were fishing at Grenada the week before fall camp and one came down and got a gut-hooked crappie off of the top of the water. It was about 50 yds from my boat. You should have seen me scrambling to try and get a picture. Lol

First, is there a law about how close to them you can get when they are nesting, and have young? You know, a "thou shall not agravate" kind of law? Depending on this answer, I might have gotten pretty close on Grenada Lake a few times.......
I had the same type experience as KDavid
