I purchased 5 dozen minnows 2 trips ago and when I opened my bucket to fish I had closer to a hundred minnows. Plan to report it to owner next time he is in there because he is charging only 1.25 a dozen. He can't be making money with employees like that. Totally agree with you BAMA. But here's what I don't understand. The store in question, says they open at 6am. I usually drive by there heading to the lake about that time, sometimes a few minutes earlier, sometimes a few minutes later. With the sunrise time being what it is right now, the last few times I have been by there at 6am or a few minutes after and the store is dark and closed. I used to buy minnows from them, but got tired of waiting in the parking lot for them to show up and open the store. This has been going on for several years now. I like to be on the water at daylight, not sitting in a parking lot waiting for someone to open their store. If they would open about 30 minutes before daylight I would stop there every time and buy minnows and breakfast. Instead a buy my minnows a pound or two at a time and keep them here at home. I have to drive about 60 miles round trip to get the minnows, so I am not saving any money there, but it's more "convenient". And if I want a biscuit for breakfast I stop at the McDonalds right there at the exit off the interstate, again "convenient". So if they are struggling so bad, why wouldn't they be doing everything they can to survive? It looks to me like they are making their own bed.
