    If the majority of the water you are gonna fish is less than 10' deep, SI & DI of any brand may not help you all that much. Deeper water it will definitely help. I say a 858c with good map chips will do better for you in shallower lakes. Good size screen that can be split map/sonar. Same size unit as the 998 but a little smaller screen and a whole lot cheaper. Do get one you can see well without having to lean over to read.

    I'm getting a us2 trolling motor can I run sonar off my tm and di at the same time on my 998

    With a switch, the tranny on the trolling motor wont do the down image or the side image but will do the egular sonar.

    Do not ever run di on non di Ducker and visa versa u will RUIN the unit
