If the majority of the water you are gonna fish is less than 10' deep, SI & DI of any brand may not help you all that much. Deeper water it will definitely help. I say a 858c with good map chips will do better for you in shallower lakes. Good size screen that can be split map/sonar. Same size unit as the 998 but a little smaller screen and a whole lot cheaper. Do get one you can see well without having to lean over to read.

With a switch, the tranny on the trolling motor wont do the down image or the side image but will do the egular sonar.Quote:
