We do that a good bit actually. With a little slack in your line I feel that the fish will have a second longer to swallow the hook, especially when they're light biting. I use them a good bit when it's windy and my rod tips are bouncing up and down to my as well. Keeps the minner stiller. I use these corks.
They have a spring on one end and you can get them in sizes big enough to where you can have a 1/2 oz weight on them and they'll still float. I like to match my corks size with the weight I have on. I want it to be just a big enough float where it still floats. They stand straight up but when a fish takes it up on a bite, the corks will lay flat so you know you're got a bite.
