Its human nature I guess Mr Jim, but lets put it in prspective a little bit.
Brand new 50000 dollar truck and 2 gas stations accross the road from each other, one has a sign advertising gas for 3 bucks and the other one has it for 4.44, where do you fill up??:donoGas is the most important factor to driving down the road but I myself am gonna get the 3 dollar a gallon fuel every time, same thing with bait. Bet Sammy and Chris will stop in Lakeway on their way to Sardis next time and get their bait, supporting the "local economy" is an awesome thing to do and what I try to do but at half again the cost I just aint gonna do it.
As much as I spend to fish in MS anyway, I'm not going to complain about an extra buck or two for minnows. The folks at the Dam Store have always treated me great!!!! I stopped one time and bought minnows on my way to Enid. It was hot outside. When I paid and was getting ready to leave, the guy came out and have me a couple of frozen water bottles to help keep the minnows alive. Another time, Yikess' camper had some storm damage on the roof. They loaned us a ladder so we could put a temporary fix on it.
Then another time, I had a flat tire. One of the younger guys there went in to get a valve stem for me. All of these things they did without me even asking. You bet I will still trade with them any time I'm down there. Great folks!!!!
Also, with the price of fuel and everything else going through the roof, I imagine they are paying more for their minnows than ever before.
I'll take that under advisement. Lmao

Coming out of the south, a stop at nader for minners at Lakeway wouldn't be a bad side trip. Hwy 8 is nice and wide, so traffic wouldn't be bad.
Coming out of the north, not many places to stop. A side trip thru Hernando with it's small streets to stop at Tadpole's could be tricky.
While at fall camp, the dam store was out of gas when I was driving in. I had to double back to I-55 for a fill up. Then a stop at the store again. I bought all the large minners they had. She gave me a bunch of smaller minners to make up the difference. After 4 trips fishing, I still have a bunch left.
The market at 310 at holiday lodge only has smaller minners for $2.00 per dozen.
Simple solution to the minner problem is buy your own from a minner supplier and put in a tank at your house!
ya'll wanna get upset about minners. Come down to jackson and buy em at Q & M. They got the market cornered and know it. Took me 15 minutes to get minners the other day and I was the only one in line. All I heard was, one, two, three, four. SUKS
You are exactly rite Sat, only thing is that I can play the odds at Lakeway and I'll get more for my money there then I do from a minner supplier. Ordered 10 doz the other day and got home to put em in the tank and had 36 doz give or take ( it aint always near that good but its a good number, with that said if it had been 120 minners I would have been happy). When they titen down on how many they give I will got to the supplier. Where I live I can be on Enid or Grenada both and never get close to a baitshop so its out of the way for me, just pick em up when we are in Grenada.
