A buddy and myself were diehards once upon a time and fished the river below Pickwick in 7 degrees. That run to Shiloh was kinda rough! Both had extreme weather baclavas on our faces and our breath had frozen hard on the outside. Tears were froze around our eyes!My hands and feet were the only issue I had that day!We both had chemical warmers stuffed in our gloves and boots and couldn't tell they were even working. When we got back to the truck later that day we found out that those warmers were hot as the devil!Did manage to catch a few smallies! All the turbines were running that day so we had to get behind those rock dikes just to fish because the current was so fast!Had on a 40 below suit with lots of layers below.Later went to a camping outfitters and found some socks that were like a heavy pair of stockings. They wicked all the moisture away from my feet and I wore a pair of really good wool socks over that.Didn't have a problem with keeping my feet warm after that but I never have found the right gloves yet!

It dang sho pays to get some real good cold weather gear. Come January at Chotard and that wind, you'll regret not having spent a little money and getting some good stuff.
