    Check the front drive shaft, go under the truck and see if there any slack in it.the cv joints will pop while turning.My guess is the front drive shaft.

    Could also be brake calipers sticking, but it sounds like G has it summed up.

    If the truck is in 2 wheel drive is the front drive shaft even moving, on the older model it aint but not sure on the newer ones.

    Got ya, lot of wear and tear that way, guess without a way to disengage the hubs it doesnt have any choice does it?
