Upon further thought I have a better answer for ya.
This is a fishing forum, I have spider rigged twice in my life, once last year and then this weekend with BRM. Last year I was completely green to any kinda of trolling when I went with Feelay and he showed me alot and I throughly enjoyed the day. I was learning to pull cranks and continued along those lines. BRM contacted me a couple of weeks ago and ask if I would fesh with him on Nader this past weekend, my response was I would be glad to but I wouldnt be much help if he intended to push minners. He said thats cool, just need some help with where to run and stuff. It was on and we went at it, never even looked at a cranking rod. I saw and caught fish in 15 to 20 mile an hour winds all day Saturday and turned around Sunday and did the same under much better conditions. Maybe it lit a fire or sumpin, wanting to fish MCC next year I am gonna have to learn to push minners, plain and simple.
As far as knowing how to tie em, I didnt, been fishing for about 45 years that I can remember so I knew I could do it just needed some insight. Until today I have never tied a loop knot.
Another thing is I have had alot of input on how to save some bucks, my rigs including the gnats have about 2 bucks in em so there is alot of room to save some change.
Your help as well as the others is greatly appreciated and is what this forum is about, once again the good folks here have came thru for me and headed me in the right direction. Thanks to all.

Well post a pic of your rig. I would like to see where and why you're using a loop knot? Never done it that way, but ain't to proud to try it if it's a better way than I'm using.

From what I can tell in the pic, I really don't see a need to call this a rig. The rig line appears to be the same as your main line. If this is the case, why use the swivel? Why not just tie a loop in your main line for your top hook/gnat, loop your egg sinker and then tie your bottom hook/gnat on? Would save you money on swivels.

I like the loop knot off the main line too. I use a loop knot 90% of the time to allow what ever I am using to swing freely. I use it to avoid all the knot tying required by swivels. Unless I feel like I need clear floro to catch spooky fish, I run a hook/jig/whatever up the line, run a barrel weight or worm weight up the line and run the line through 5 times leaving whatever length line I want my bottom hook to be below the sinker and then attach bottom hook with loop knot and then use loop knot for top hook whatever distance I want it above the weight. If I am money fishing and want prerigs, I do the exact same thing except top hook's tag end is tied to a normal swivel. Knot tying takes way to long for a double rig when I am trying to keep up with the depth finder, trolling motor, wind, other boats, and all the other distractions. I want to spend as much of my time watching rod tips and depth finder as possible.

fear not minner, your time was not wasted. i have been using three ways from the get go and get so frustrated because a lot of times the knot comes undone right off the bat, probably a left hander problem tying it bakards. just tied up about ten like yours and it is so simple and easy, plus i can use a palomar knot on all three and you can't tie that one bakards...
    thanks,
