About the length making a difference, keep in mind how far back are the rod holders. Some boats rod holders are set up way back from the bow, thus you don't get a full 12 14 16 or whatever away from the trolling motor. Shallow spring fish do spook from a trolling motor or bumping into stumps. Just a thought.

Have seen many crappie caught on cane poles ! A minnow is a minnow . Finally bought a set of pro staff 14 ft. This yr. And love them . Sure easier than keeping eyes on them than cane !

Just go by dd's and tell nessa what you want . He's got about 70 in his garage . Don't get greedy just get what you need and he will never know . And she will probably be glad to get rid of some of it . Shhh . Lol or just wait till he ready to move and just go help and misplace a rod or two . I bet he don't know how many he really has . I think i am the proud owner of 7 and none of the match . But i single pole without minners 99% of the time . Lol save minners
    CATCH THEM ALL.
