    How big of a deal is a 12' rod vs a 14' rod vs a 16' rod?

Ya know, I almost made that joke on myself... Somebody made the comment that longer rods help to not spook fish. Do you think there's any truth to that when you're talking two feet?

That was DonDon, ignore everything he says. Unless he's giving advice on duct tape!

You aint spooking many fish from 12' away. You are just covering a wider swath with longer poles.

I fished 12's for years, caught lots of fish. I use 14's now, gives me a wider spread. `

Duck i'm helping Slabin get setup for slow trolling now.He is buying 4 pinnacles and 4 reels and barely has a $100 in it.And like I told him he can always use those for guests if he wants to upgrade. And like i said before most are coming out of the same factory, with just a different name stamped on them.Good luck.

Don't try the Ozarks then cause u will break your rule of only buying one set.

This is what 24 fourteen foot trolling rods look like. PST's don't have reels but the Ozarks do It really comes down to personal preference and there are a lot of good choices out there but I believe the Ozarks have the best combo of both sensitivity and backbone. I will get off my soap box now but I know a lot of people have never had a chance to use em and I'm just trying to help get the word out.

ive used the b&m westpoint crappie pole for years..........its fiberglass, but with a litter stiffer tip, which i like. 25 bucks or so, at grizzly and wally world. ive had no problems with them. maybe not as sensitive as graphite, but very adequate for trolling. they're up to 12 ft. only, which i think are plenty long.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
