    Default Roaring Fork Motor Trail

    MUST SEE

In Gatlinburg turn on the street that goes past the convention center(if coming from Pigeon Forge to the left). Watch the signs and on the right will be a road leading to the Roaring Fork Motor Trail. It is a one way paved trail that takes you up the side of the mountain to some areas that are still like they were when the National Park started. Cabins and homesites, creeks, and lots of spectacular views. Sorta like Cades Cove but more rustic and wooded and on the side of a mountain. The road is paved and will bring you back into Gatlinburg. One of my favorite areas in all of the Smokies!! In the fall of the year when leaves are changing you will not find a more beautiful area in all the Smokies. There are so many trees it is like you are in a tunnel the whole time.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass....It's learning how to fish in the rain!

You are correct Bigwill, pretty cool trail. Another thing up there is the kids fishing, it is some kind of awesome. If not mistaken they have to have a fishing license no matter their age, after 5 years old for sure. There is a spot by the hatchery on the North side of Gatlinburg that is kids only feshing with any bait, light action rod and some corn and its on!!! Have your camera and video cam ready cause there will be plenty of action and the kids will get a kick out of having their own fishing license.
As far as resturants up there I bet we havent ate at 5 of em in all thetrips we have made up there, cant even remember one off the top of my head. Spent our time picnicing in the mountains, too much of "What The Lord Made" up there to e indoors.
