I have an extra pedestal that I put in the extra base when I'm by myself or in the center when I have a guest. I have it reamed so the sportbrella fits it. You DEFINITELY need some kind of safety latch, pin, chain, etc. Even a small amount of wind gets under the brellas and takes them up, up, and away!:rolleyes:
